Our home is in Bothell, Wa about an hour outside of Seattle. We have a 1 1/4 acre hobby farm with a lovely pond, three sweet, peanut=loving goats and a people-adoring dog named Teddy.
Yard care is less than you might think. We have automatic watering set up for most of the garden. The plants in pots on the deck need to be watered every few days and the pond might need to be topped off once or twice if it’s especially dry. You are welcome to pick blueberries, raspberries and grapes in season. We have an American Chestnut tree as well, but good luck beating the squirrels to the nuts.
The goats need consistent access to fresh water, so that means refilling their water every few days and- dumping, scrubbing and refilling it if gets scummy (probably once per 6 week sit). They love peanuts - but it’s important to be fair. If Magnolia talks you out of a peanut, Cardi and Damsel should each get one as well! We have raw feed peanuts in the barn. If you try to feed them roasted peanuts, they will eat the shell and spit out the nut.
Teddy, the dog, needs a lot of belly rubs as he will certainly tell you himself. He is free-fed kibble and goes on two short walks a day. He has a bad knee so he can’t do long walks, nor can he chase a ball in the yard - even if he asks super nicely. He loves all people and gets along with other dogs at a dog park, but he can be reactive to other dogs when he is on leash or they are at his house.
