AFTON Minnesota

We are looking for a pet and house sitter for a little over a week while we are away. We live on a beautiful piece of acreage on the river bluff of the great St. Croix river in Afton, MN. Our land is directly adjacent to Afton State Park in Afton. Minnesota, great for those who love the outdoors or looking outside at natural beauty from all sides.

Our dog, Pilot, is a 3 year old herding breed mix who came into our family as a rescue last year. He's sweet, playful and smart, however is still building his trust with humans. He came to us as a stray, prior. He prefers to let you know if he's up for touch and affection, it takes time. He is a good guard dog, and will bark to notify of anyone coming to the porch.

We frequent a larger off leash dog park (in Woodbury, MN) which Pilot loves, in order to get him off leash exercise. Pilot walks best on a least with his Starmark training collar, as his excitement can cause him to pull without it! He cannot be let outside off a lead at this time, as he loves to give chase to bunnies and deer with his high chase drive, and there are plenty in our remote area.

Pilot is smart, knows his commands, and is very treat/food motivated. He also eats a raw food diet and takes a few supplements with meals.

He's a sweet boy who just needs someone to play with him a little, exercise him daily, and who will be patient with his quirks. If possible, we prefer to meet the sitter prior in person.
