Howdy! The dates we are looking for are flexible and may vary! We travel to California for work and don't know exactly what our schedule will look like. Please reach out for any interest.
We are a family looking for a single person or married couple to take care of our animals while we are out of town. We have a twenty-one month-old Great Pyrenees, Roxy, three chickens, and our 2-year-old cat, Link. The animals are outside with heated houses. Roxy has a GPS Tractive collar. Our yard is 2-3 acres, and has an electric underground fence that Roxy is trained with. She is a great protector against critters for our property. She enjoys her daily cuddles, walks along the property lines, and playing ball. Link is an adventurous kitty who is free to go about his business in the 40-acre woods behind our home. He comes back for cuddles, wet cat food, and treats. The chickens get fed every two days and their water changed every few days.
Our home is in a beautiful rural area with paved and dirt roads. We live quite a way from the road, so traffic is minimal. It's a beautiful country setting that is peaceful, quiet and cozy. Our large outdoor deck is a favorite to all our visitors (and the cat). :)
Our home was built by us and is not quite done, but it is safe, clean, and cozy.
Some of the requests for housesitting would be feed Roxy her fresh raw meal for breakfast (chicken, hamburger, etc.). Ensure her electric fence collar is safe on her neck and her batteries are charged, fence is working properly, etc. Her dry food and water are topped off outside. She is growing out of her puppy tendencies, but we would kindly ask to keep an eye on things to ensure there is no damage.
She also has a Tractive collar that would need charged if it gets low, and checked to see that it is working properly.
Link has a clean and safe cat house, his water and food are full and clean, etc.
I currently have 2 house plants that would need watering. Once springtime hits, we may need tree watering as we have some new trees. We have a very clean home and expect it to stay clean in return. :) We want you to feel comfortable and cozy. We do have a computer monitor, and quality Internet for remote work.

We are close to Pokagon State Park in Indiana, and Shipshewana (Amish Country) also in Indiana. It has lots of quaint small towns with great coffee shops and small business shopping.
We received an invitation from the Mayer family to look after the house during their absence. These are their wonderful and kind people, a very cozy and comfortable home. In addition to the house, we looked after the dog Roxy and the cat Link. The time we spend there was very interesting. We just fell in love with Roxy and Link and quickly became friends with them.
