Olympic & Kitsap - Clallam
April
Scenic Port Angeles, WA, is located between the ocean and the forest on the Olympic Peninsula, about 3 hours northwest of Seattle. The weather is mild year-round, though rainy in winter. The entrance to Olympic National Park is located in town, so hiking opportunities abound. The town is quaint but has all the amenities (though without big-box stores; you have to drive about 15-30 minutes for those).
Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood on the west end of town. It is modern and comfortable with a dishwasher and washer & dryer. The kitchen is well-stocked. We are lucky to have beautiful views from both sides of the house -- you can watch the sun set over the ocean whilst cozied up in the front room, or over the pine trees from the back patio. We have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The primary has a king-sized bed. The second has a single loft bed, suitable for kids. The third has a single daybed and opens to the patio. The Olympic Discovery Trail is just blocks away, and the closest grocery store (Safeway) is about 3 miles away.
We have one dog, Yara, who is 7 years old and about 50 pounds. She is friendly and energetic when you want to play, but content to curl up by your feet much of the time. She needs to be fed and watered twice a day (morning and evening, but she's not particular about time). Our backyard is not fully fenced, so she needs to be supervised while outside. She loves walks, but it is best to keep her away from other dogs as she has been a bit aggressive to them since we moved this summer. She does tend to pull, so you need to be able to hold onto her.
The yard will not need care, but we do have indoor potted plants that will need watering. Our mailbox is about a block away, so you'll need to walk to pick up mail, or just stop on your way to the house.
