Williamette Valley - Lane
Kassidy
Looking for a solo traveler or pair to sit for my two sweet dogs, Gili (7F) and Nim (5M). Both are 50-55 lbs,, mixed breed, fixed. They're well behaved, low-maintenance, and experienced with sitters. They need 2 walks a day, and they're easy to walk together in a hands-free set up. No meds or unique dietary needs, they just need food, water, and someone to love on them. They're fine home alone for the day while sitters are out exploring, but also make excellent adventure buddies! They're happy, healthy dogs who love attention and also know how to be chill. Nim will tug a little when new sitters are walking him and needs to be reminded to leave slack on the leash; Gili will groan and grumble when she wants attention, pats, or pizza. That's about as challenging as they get.
My home is in Springfield (not an option on HSA's map), on the border with Eugene in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. It's uniquely situated in a quiet neighborhood that has easy access to shops and eateries. Within one mile: Starbucks, Dutch Bros, Target, Walmart, mall, movie theater, post office, fast food, chain restaurants, local eateries, etc. We get none of the noise & traffic, all of the convenience! It's about a 10 minute drive to downtown Eugene or the University of Oregon, less to downtown Springfield, and 15 to the EUG airport. Also only a 10 minute walk to the McKenzie River, and the Willamette isn't much further. There are well-served bus stops in every direction. Sitters are also welcome to use my bike and kayaks. Sometimes I can arrange for sitters to have use of my old car, as long as they arrange for their insurance to cover it.
It's a cute, clean, comfy, 1950s home. Guests have a dedicated room with a super comfy full size bed and plenty of pillows & blanket choices. There's also a well-equipped home office and a few workout items. Large fenced backyard for dogs to run in and humans to chill in. Space is available in closet, shelves, pantries, etc. so sitters can comfortably unpack. There are basic toiletries available and of course you're welcome to use kitchen essentials. In growing season, sitters are also welcome to pick up my CSA box if they're here on a Wednesday and enjoy fresh veggies grown at the local youth farm. The wifi is strong but we do not have a television.
The dogs are trained to recognize the sound of the sitter's lockbox and will happily greet you on their own. This gives us flexibility on timing, so sitters never have to rush to arrive and I never ask sitters to do an overnight with me or long intro session.
This sit is also posted on TH.
