Crestone Colorado

Our house seats in a 7 acres property, at the feet of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The small community of Crestone is a spiritually oriented one, with many retreat centers and hermitages of different denominations, but mostly Buddhists.

Our home is a beautiful sunny house with all the modern amenities, but for cable. We don't do TV.

This place holds meditation and ceremonial practices for the small
monastic community of Crestone once a week.
That is something it should keep going while the house/pet sitting period is happening.
Therefor, the woman willing to take the responsibility for this place has to be willing of allowing this small group ( about 6) of Buddhist monastics come once a week for a morning of practice. The sitter doesn't have to do anything on those days, either just stay quiet or go for a morning walk.

The area is rich on hiking trails, one at the very back yard of our place. Our dog Mischa ( 5 years old beagle mix )loves go for long walks. There is also three hot springs at about 40' drive. Sand Dunes National park an hour away. The little town for shopping, banking and mail ( that's all there is in town) is 10' drive and bigger towns at about an hour drive.

Mischa is a people lover easy going pup, she needs to be fed twice a day and take an off the leash walk twice a day, therefor the person should feel comfortable with that. Mischa is obedient, but she likes to chase rabbits and face coyotes, so she need to be managed with discipline. We have a tiny fenced area, but while seating outside or working in the garden, she stays free hanging around. She can't be left alone outside because of coyotes, who are abundant in this land.

The ideal person would be a woman with a spiritual practice that could respect and make good use of this very especial environment, in the house and in the area. Ideal for somebody aspiring for retreat time.

We also required that the person keeps these simple guidelines in the house:
Not to kill any living being.
Not to take what is not offered.
Not to take intoxicants, alcohol included.
Not sexual conduct in the house.
