Looking for a housesitter or sitters for a week at the end of March. The sit is in a big comfortable modern house with all amenities in quiet, safe, friendly neighborhood fifteen minutes from downtown Asheville. While Asheville suffered significant damage during Hurricane Helene in late September, Weaverville did not, and nearby hiking trails are mostly back to normal. For homebodies, there is a nice front porch for coffee on warm mornings, and the house is well-heated and well-lit for reading, crafts, conversation and just hanging out, with strong wifi and cell signals ( Verizon and AT&T) and TVs with lots of subscription services, etc.. Weaverville is a cute small town less than 10 minutes away with ample grocery shopping as well as nice “downtown” stores and restaurants. There is only one cat now, a two-year old named Zoe, who needs to be fed twice a day, have her box scooped daily, and have the cat door accessible on warm days while you’re home. We don’t let her stay out when we’re gone from the house, and she is only allowed out between 7 am and 6 pm, but she doesn't get crazy if she can’t go out. Zoe is young, energetic and curious, but generally indifferent to patting although she likes to be near people. If she is stuck inside and gets rambunctious, YouTube Cat TV videos will distract her ( really; she likes watching!) There are a few houseplants and perhaps a tray of seedlings but nothing complicated. Zoe likes to have someone play with her, and with the right enticement will "fetch" for a good while. We will be in Charleston and easily accessible by internet and cell. Neighbors are available for backup. Potential sitters are welcome to come a day early or leave a day late; there is a nice guest room.
