Two cats - one is very shy and may not come out for a while.
Pet care - to refill dry food bowls and water, clean litter boxes. Wet food to be given one or two times a day depending on how often per day they are visited. Let them out during the day and at night if comfortable but have them in by 10:30PM and when leaving the house. Note that they don't have to be let out if the sitter is not comfortable to do so, but the cats do love outdoors and spend morning and evening time in the garden. They (usually) come upon calling their names.
Plants to be watered every other day or more frequently (for some of them) if it has been hot. Ours is a vegetarian household and would request not to cook meat while sitting at our house. Eggs are ok.
The hosts were very kind, genuinely grateful, and in frequent communication. The two cats were friendly and easy to care for. Their home is humble, but in a very safe neighborhood, and the WiFi was excellent. They generously stocked up on a few items for my stay. There were a couple of minor issues, but everything worked out fine in the end.
Whether you're sitting for free, or getting paid, house sitting can be a wonderful way to save, or make, good money.
