North & Denver - Boulder

Allen and Diana

Seeking a birdie babysitter starting March 17th to April 5th. Main responsibilities include watering green house plants once weekly and feeding and interacting with our yellow naped Amazon parrot. We live in an architect designed passive solar home in the foothills 30 minutes west of Boulder, and 10 minutes from the picturesque town of Nederland, and are surrounded by hiking trails, mountain views, and plenty of winter sports activities. We are 15 minutes from the Eldora Ski Area. The skiing is excellent this time of year and the IKON ski pass works at Eldora. Thanks. Diana and Al

We had such a special sit with Big Bird! Our first time spending time with any type of bird, let alone a parrot, but Al and Diana assured us that it would not be difficult helping us through each step, quick with responses to any question that came up, especially when the temperature dropped and we were all concerned about keeping Big warm. Although we had no previous experience caring for a parrot, Al & Diana assured us that he was easy to care for, and they were right. We just wrapped up a 2-week house sit for Al and Diana. They were a joy to house sit for, welcoming us into their home, and providing very clear instructions regarding their house and their lovely bird, affectionately known as "Big". No rating We arrived 3 nights early to get to know Allen and Diane, and their pet parrot, Big Bird. We hit it off immediately and shared endless great conversations. They ensured the house was well-equipped with all the amenities we needed for our 25 day house-sit; this included groceries, fire wood, pet food, a snow blower, household supplies, emergency contacts, and an emergency 4x4 vehicle.
