Hello! If you’re looking for space to roam, easy country living in an amazing mountain location and aren’t afraid of some simple farm upkeep and dog care then we have a place for you! Looking for a highly responsible housesitter to watch our beautiful home and property while our family loads up the RV for a summer of work out of state. We have a livestock dog that lives outside, a friendly mutt that just hangs around, a barn cat, one cow and a dozen chickens that need someone to love them while we’re away. Our home is on 35 acres (yard maintenance isn’t expected, we have someone to mow and keep the weeds down) 4 bedroom Amish built off-grid home with a view to die for. Sit in the wood fired hot tub and see the stars like never before!

We are located between Canon City and Westcliffe Colorado, just 25 min from the Arkansas River, and thousands of acres of national forest, the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and about an hour from the hip mountain town of Salida.

We are planning on being gone from mid-April to mid-November but we do have flexibility on both ends. We have help from local friends if needed for short term fill-in needs, so if you want a few days off now and then we can arrange that easily.

The property has a 2500’ greenhouse that we will leave dormant, but those that want to grow their own garden have a great place to grow as much food as they like. The dogs and cow have 12 fenced acres to run and play on and would only need daily love and feeding and the occasional sunset walk on a leash would always be appreciated. The chickens will give you about a dozen delicious eggs a day with minimal care. No roosters.
