We live in a beautiful new lake house in a quiet community in rural Georgia, 22 miles south of Savannah. We will be traveling for four weeks and simply want someone to be a presence in our home while we are away. We don't have any pets, but do feed the local songbirds so there are a couple feeders to keep full.
The house is about 2,200 square feet, so plenty of room to relax. The screen porch offers beautiful sunrise views of the lake. Downstairs is a sunroom, the kitchen/dining/living area, powder room, and owners’ bed/bath. (We prefer that you stay upstairs in the guest room, rather than the main bedroom downstairs.) The first floor has lots of windows and ten foot ceilings, and feels bright and spacious.
Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, a full bath, plus a large family room with tv and craft area.
There is a nice walking trail around the lake and the edge of the marshes. Fort Stewart is 25 minutes away. Downtown Midway is very small, but twenty minutes in either direction you'll find lots more shopping and restaurants.
With our reliable internet, this is a perfect location for a digital nomad, or someone looking for a quiet place with a beautiful view.

I spent one month housesitting for Donna and Craig and found them to be caring and communicative hosts. Their home is a newly built lake house and is the perfect retreat to just relax. Their prolific garden is something special and sitting on the back porch with a coffee at sunrise or a glass of wine at sunset feels like a little slice of heaven. Donna and Craig created an oasis on a lake. A wonderful garden, adorable interior and beautiful lake vista. We enjoyed our daily watering and seeing the garden morph and grow under our care. Communication was easy even though Donna and Craig were overseas. 10/10 recommend the lake house!
