Our small ranch is in the Gold Country in the Sierra Nevadas. There is lots to see and do.
Yosemite National Park 2 hours
Railtown 1897 State historic Park, Jamestown, Ca 25 minutes
Columbia State Historical Park Columbia, Ca 25 minutes
Local Sierra Repertory Theatre with locations in Sonora & Columbia
Aspen Meadow Pack Station, Crabtree Rd, Pinecrest, Ca (horse riding)
Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Arnold, Ca 1 hour
Hiking within 1 hour just stop by Stanislaus National Forest, Summit Ranger Station for maps and advice where to head.
Old town Sonora is 15 minutes away
Murphys is a quaint old town with wine tasting and Ironstone Winery 45 minutes.
We have two dogs Bodie McNab and Greta German Shepherd they are very friendly and outside dogs they have a big yard but do like their daily pets and ball playing. They are fed twice a day morning and later afternoon we do lock them in a kennel at night.
Cats we have 4 they are outside mousers and very independent they have an automatic feeder and do not require much except to make sure feeder has food which last usually a week or longer.
Horses we have to trail riding geldings Preacher Quarter horse and BJ (Blackjack) Morgan they are very friendly, and love treats. They are feed in the Morning and later Afternoon.
Chickens we have five and they have an automatic water and feeder which just needs to be checked once a month otherwise very easy you just have to collect and enjoy their eggs.
Cows or small Wagyu herd we have 6 mamas who are expecting babies the first part of June 2025 they are very friendly, and the babies are fun to watch run and play. We have one bull who is also friendly and has his pen area when he is not hanging with his ladies. They are fed usually just once a day depending on pasture growth.
During the warmer summer we do have pasture irrigation which is done with two water reel sprinklers that we set each morning and early evening not difficult to do.
