Do the math
Whether you're sitting for free, or getting paid, house sitting can be a wonderful way to save, or make, good money.
If necessary, we are happy to discuss contributing to travel costs.

The house:
Our home is walking distance to Greenbelt metro station (easy trip to Smithsonians and other DC fun), Mom's grocery store, and other amenities. We have two queen beds, two futons, and an air mattress available, so plenty of room for guests! We have a well stocked kitchen, as my partner loves to cook and bake, and there are many appliances to choose from. We have a home office, high speed wifi, and nearly every streaming service you could hope for. The home itself is cozy, and larger than it looks from the outside, with a bedroom, office, bathroom, living room, and kitchen upstairs, and a half finished basement downstairs with an additional bedroom, living room, and bathroom. We have a large backyard, free street parking, and many parks in the area.
The dogs:
We also have two lovely black labradors who enjoy cuddly company. They are low maintenance--only requiring a morning/evening meal and lots of love. They have a dog door and large yard, so no need for walks or potty breaks. This opens up your day for DC adventures. Most of all, they need someone to love on them so they don't get lonely and depressed while we are gone.
Let us know if you would be interested, and we can discuss more! The dates are approximate, as we won't book tickets until we have found someone.
Thanks!
