We need a house sitter

Central East - Volusia

Jessica

I have surgery in California and the doctor does not want me flying back till after my follow-up. My husband is still working out there. We will be having to drive back with our chinchillas. They decided to chew their way out of a cat carrier when we were transporting all our animals and got left behind. I fly out early on Christmas Eve morning. I do not know the exact date of return yet. But it will be 3-4 weeks. And I am nervous as heck leaving my babies behind.

Our house is on a dirt road backed into the forest. But is in the center of the city, and 5 minutes to literally anything you could possibly need. There is lots to do. Lots of restaurants and springs to explore. 30 minutes to Daytona and 1 hour to Orlando.
Our property is 3 acres. We just moved here from California. So there is not much to maintain at the moment.

For outside animals:
1 pig- Chris P Bacon
just needs to be fed and watered daily. He loves belly rubs and poptarts. Lol
12 ducks and 1 goose-
Daily food and water. Let out of shed in the morning and put away before dark. I give them dried mealworms at night. It's routine for them and makes them follow willingly. I just bring out the bag and yell "All ducks go to bed". Lol. It works.

Inside animals:
Dogs-
Snickers- 1 short and chubby pit that is lazy. She loves to run around our new yard. But she has to be forced outside. She prefers to lay on her cushy dog bed 24 hours a day if you let her. She is a good listener. But you have to be firm with her.

Romeo- 1 pure white husky mix? Not really sure. Not very smart but super sweet and loving. He will sleep most the day. But definitely has more energy to burn. He is a terrible listener. Did not train him much. And will escape if he sees the opportunity.
They both just need water, food once a day, and to be let out to go the bathroom or have outside time.

3 cats-
Danger- the mom. The smallest. And is only nice when she is in heat. Have not been able to capture her to get her fixed. I advise not petting her unless she initiates. And even then, be careful. Oh, and she hates her kids but loves the dogs. She is most likely the runt of her litter. But she has bobcat, lynx, jungle cat and house cat genes. Her ears are hard and curled. She can jump over 6 feet and land exactly where she wants without running. Her and the babies have 6 toes on each foot. The babies do not have her ability or mentality.
Ghost- the big fluffy beige guy. He can be timid. But lately has become more and more cuddly.
Pepper- the lap cat. Wants to be in your lap or touching you 24/7. I swear she thinks she is my owner.
She looks like Danger untill you have been around them long enough. They move different and Danger is slightly bonier.

I bought an automatic cat litter box that seems to be working well. But with 3 cats it gets full within 3 or 4 days. You just open the drawer, take out the full bag and put a new one. Then when needed refill. I have not bought a new cat tree yet. So i have an oversized bowl of food I keep full for them, and waterer on a kitchen counter. Gross I know. But i need to keep the dogs out of their stuff. Hopefully i will have a better setup soon.

1 bird- RC (Rainbow Chicken)
I have a macaw. He gets loud every once in a while. And if you don't have experience or it is too much for you, I can send him to boarding instead. He is only 2. So he is still a baby and very friendly/ cuddly. I don't expect for you to handle him. I am a little afraid of him getting outside on accident. Plus the boarding facility keeps him in a cage anyways.
I give him fresh water and food twice daily. He has dry pellets i make sure he has available all day. And fresh food once or twice a day. Depending on if he seems to be eating or leaving his food. I give nuts, apples, bananas and corn on the cob as treats. He needs his toys replaced every once in a while. That's when to be careful of biting. Sometimes new toys scare him. Even if it is being replaced by the same thing... lol. Under his cage I have a roll of paper covering the floor. That needs to be changed out a minimum of twice a week.
He is still developing his vocabulary. He can say hi, hello, I love you, Hi Pepper (lap cat he is jealous of), are you a good boy, RC (his name), apple, how was your day, do you want to play, hi bird, hi baby.... feel free to teach him something new.

Feel free to use the kitchen., pans and dishes. We are on septic. So although there is a garbage disposal, please try to throw food in the trash. There is a washer and dryer in the garage. I just got brand new mattresses delivered from Four Seasons hotel. Still in plastic right now. We will keep the Master locked. But there are 2 extra rooms .one will have a queen and the other has a full. I don't have bed frames or dressers quite yet. I can get a dresser and hangers for you. The bathroom has full tub and shower. All new towels, and toilet paper is stocked.
I try not to use chemicals because they can kill my parrot. If I have to I usually board him for a day or two. I mostly use dish soap and water. I sometimes use comet in the toilet. But keep the door closed during and afterwards. Anything that can possibly have harmful fumes like candles, smoking or teflon can kill him quickly. If you smoke I don't care. Just do it outside please. Feel free to use any pantry items you need.

I am hoping to find someone who has their own transportation. But if we must, we have a Ford Excursion available for use.

P.S. All of our new neighbors are extremely nice and willing to help you. If you need to step out the neighbors across the street will happily come by to do a feeding.

P.S.S. I may be open to paying for some odd jobs, house cleaning and/ or organizing as well.
