Located in the lovely Apple Hill area of the foothills of California, the main home (4400 sq ft) is situated on a ridge above 5 acres with spectacular views of pine forests below. Very private. There are two guest rooms available, each with their own bathroom. Expansive wrap around decks upstairs and downstairs with a waterproof fully furnished space on the lower deck. Hiking trail available 5 minutes from the house with many more hiking options at nearby lakes. 1-1/2 hours from South Lake Tahoe. Downtown Placerville is a bustling gold rush town with great shopping and restaurants. Apple Hill has many farms open to the public and lovely wineries for wine tasting and leisurely afternoons. No landscaping requires attention, just houseplants and deck plants need watering. A car may be available upon request. PLEASE NOTE: The approximate map location is incorrect, the home is on the south side of Hwy 50, not the north.

The kitchen is large and airy with two dishwashers, two refrigerators and two sinks with gas stove and two ovens - a dream for entertaining. Full dining room and outside dining available w/retractable awning for shade on sunny days.

There is a completely separate cottage at the top of the property where the owner's Mom lives.

Maddie is our beloved 3 year old Anatolian Shepherd mix (85 lbs). Affectionate and easy to be around, but does insist on sleeping outside. During inclement weather, we do put her on the lower deck outside to prevent her getting wet or snowed upon. A carryover from her early days as a working dog on a goat farm, she does have some issues around food, so we hold her bowl of food as she eats which makes her feel more secure. Each meal takes about 3-5 minutes doing this. We would also ask that Maddie be walked on the nearby paved El Dorado trail mentioned above.

We love our home very much and enjoy sharing it with our friends and family. We are excited to share our home and our beautiful, sweet dog with pet sitter(s) that will love it as much as we do.
