We need a house sitter

Northern California - Plumas

David and Sharon

We live in a mountain valley at 3500 ft elevation, 3 miles from Quincy, CA. Our passive solar home looks out on a cattle ranch and forested mountains. Our 5.5 acres are fenced to exclude deer from our blackberry vineyard and gardens, with a 2 acre portion around the house fenced for our dogs. We have two dogs: a 10 year old Great Pyrenees and a 2 1/2 year old silver lab. They eat and sleep in the house, love to be snuggled, and do not require walking as they romp in the large fenced area. The lab will, of course, delight in almost unlimited games of fetch.... We also have a few chickens requiring food and water checked and replenished, yielding an egg or two daily for your efforts. In winter we occasionally get a bit of snow, but rarely a great deal. Mostly we watch it fall on the mountains surrounding our valley.
House plants indoors might need watering. While we have a garden and plantings, in winter they need no care.
We are on a quiet country road, close to national forest land with developed trails for biking and hiking (weather permitting) and a ski hill in Johnsville, about 25 miles away.
We have a smoke-free home, and require non-smokers. Our guest room has a double/full bed, and there is a queen fold out in the family room.

Sharon and David are fabulous hosts: gracious, attentive, and generous. Their Great Pyrenees and Labrador Retriever dogs are affectionate, affable companions. Their American Shorthair cat is very friendly and loves pets, but not so much cuddles. Their comfortable "modern rustic" home is beautifully situated, and provides excellent recreation and relaxation. It would definitely be a great pleasure to sit again for Sharon and David!

Sharon and David are fabulous hosts, very welcoming and generous. Their home is very comfortable, and in an absolutely magnificent Sierra Nevada mountains location. Their Great Pyrenees and Silver Labrador are loving, gentle, active, and fun companions. This was a thoroughly enjoyable, and I would be very grateful to return.

We appreciated the opportunity to housesit for Sharon & David. They are gracious hosts and made us feel at home. Their care instructions were clear and easy to follow. Sharon and David were just the best hosts ever! They win the award for the best, most complete, and most accurate written instructions for us to follow during our sit. The chickens and the kitty cat required really minimal care, and the two dogs were very well behaved, well trained, and, were just a pleasure to hang out with. Sharon and David are lovely! While I wasn't able to house-sit in the conventional sense due to some COVID-related travel changes, they were a great house to visit and stay with, and very courteous and kind.

Sharon and David were the most thoughtful and welcoming hosts, It was so easy to communicate with them at all times. . If you want to spend a quiet, serene time surrounded by nature amongst the Sierra mountains, this is THE place! Don't forget to go visit the quaint, little town of Quincy nearby and see beautiful Frazier Falls within 30 minute drive in the springtime.
