We thought our friends were going to petsit, but because of illness, they are unable to help us now. So, if you think you'd enjoy spending nineteen days in a beautiful, warm desert unlike any other place in the world, we hope you will consider pet sitting for us.

We live in a very comfortable two bedroom home with a study and two baths. ( There is a queen Tempurpedic in the room you will have.) Our house backs on to an arroyo with lots of trees, wildlife, and hawks, so it is a peaceful setting. The outdoor "living room" and dining area face the protected-by-law wildlife corridor (You can see everything in the corridor — javelina, bobcats, coyotes — but you're protected by a wrought iron fence.) which makes the covered terrace a pleasant spot year-round. The community pool and spa are located a short walk up the street. A YMCA with a heated pool, gym and classes is a mile away, and grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance or a quick drive.

Our setting is bucolic, yet we are only a mile or so from every shop, bank, market, exercise facility, hiking trail and restaurant imaginable. You will need a car but we are only three miles from the interstate which can take you downtown in fifteen minutes or to Mexico in an hour.

Since Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon, Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, Canyon de Chelly and Sedona, you may want to visit these places after your stay in Tucson. Tucson itself is a UNESCO World Heritage City of Gastronomy, the only one in the United States! We also have the best Mexican food north of the border.

Our indoor-only cat, Merlin, three years old, loves to sit on your lap or look for bugs. He is very easy to care for as long as you're willing to play with him for a few minutes each day. Cooper, our ten-year-old Cairn terrier, is a delight who will dance for you, especially when you take him for a nightly walk around the block.

We are looking for a mature pet-sitter with good references who truly loves animals. It is also important to us that our house be well-cared for as well as our plants and cactus garden. Our housekeeper will do the cleaning before you arrive, but you may need to do a bit of watering in the garden.
