- About Us
We are a family of 5: a middle-aged couple and three pets. We have a 35lb male dog (9yo mixed breed border collie) and two cats (less than 2yo).
Our house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We live on the upper floor and rent the lower floor out on AirBnB, which has a separate entrance. We also have a large backyard that requires minimum maintenance.
Our home is within walking distance to King Estate Open Space Park.
- About cat:
Our cats are very cuddly and always want attention. They’ll need to have their water and food replaced and refilled. We’ll also need to clean their litter every day.
- About dog:
We adopted our dog from Indonesia, and he had bitten his past owner. He is very protective of us and will need time to get to know new people. He is aggressive with other dogs (curiously, not so much if the other dog is female).
We want to meet you first and introduce our dog several times before starting the house sit. We walk him out twice, one in the morning and another in the afternoon/night. Each walk is roughly 10-20 minutes.
- About you:
- Have experience with house-sitting
- Have experience taking care of aggressive dogs (having professional dog training experience is a plus)
- Willing to help clean our AirBnB before a new guest comes in (additional compensation per-project)
- We’ll ask for past reference
- We’ll interview you before starting the house-sit
- We want to meet you and introduce our dogs several times before starting the house sit. Hence, having someone local or currently around the SF Bay Area is preferable.
About our dog's aggressiveness:
- It takes a while for him to warm up to new people
- He growls, pulls the leash, and tries to chase other dogs
- He growls whenever someone comes to the front door; he barks and tries to chase them away.
- He had bitten his owner in the past when they were forcing their way; at that time, they tried to force medication on him
- He likes his space, so you need to let him warm up to you before he gets all friendly and cuddly
- We sent him to training last year, so he understands commands, but he doesn't always listen when we call him when he is distracted
