Greetings!
Update Aug 2024: I am currently doing housesits in California and welcome homeowners in both Northern & Southern California to reach out.
I am a writer and occasional photographer who has chosen to become a full-time nomad. After a little research, I discovered this wonderful site.
I have both housesitting and petsitting experience. I was a pet owner for 30 years and cared for many different 4-legged children. My last "housesitting" gig lasted 9+ years. I was a tenant (in good standing) in a privately owned condominium. They'll be happy to be my personal reference.
I am originally from the Midwest but have lived the majority of my adult life in major metropolitan cities across the country over the past 30 years, I have lived in various cities, but now I'd like to do it in a more nomadic style. I've really begun the process of downsizing my life these past two years.
I pride myself on being clean, courteous, responsible, and downright trustworthy. After caring for my own 4-legged children for the past 30 years, I find myself on my own in a long time. My last 4-legged child left this world in December of 2023 and I've been on my own since.
Over the past two years, I have been crafting my writing life more seriously and am proud to say I have, in addition to other projects, penned 2 novels. My writing goals for 2024 are even bigger and I'd like to use this housesitting experience to really work on my craft in some new places.
I am a non-smoker, and don't use drugs, but do enjoy the bliss of a good glass of red wine. I also really appreciate classic world cinema.
Ted returned to our house for a 3 week sit. He unfortunately got sick immediately upon arriving, but still managed to care for our dog. The rest of the stay involved bad weather and a Tsunami warning, but Ted handled it like a champ and continued to care for our house and dog. Our house was spotless when we returned. Highly recommend!
Ted left the house very clean, and the cats were well cared for. I have a very shy cat and I'm happy that Ted was able to feed her, and she showed herself a few times. My other kitty liked to hang around him. The night that we overlapped in the house, Ted was quiet and considerate. He brought protection for my driveway for his car's oil leak.
He even fixed a doorknob, and cleaned up some house plants!

Ted is an excellent sitter! He watched our house and dog and it was a wonderful experience. Our pup is a rambunctious and energetic Golden. Ted gave him plenty of walks, exercise and attention. Our pup was happy and healthy when we returned. Ted left our house in perfect condition. He is extremely clean and tidy, Quick and easy communication with regular updates. Looking forward to our next sit. Highly recommend!
Ted took excellent care of our home, our two small dogs, and a garden during our three-week trip. He ensured our dogs were loved and we returned to a spotless home, happy pets, and a maintained garden. Highly recommend!
Ted was great! He communicated well prior to and during the sit. He was very personable and my cat warmed up to him. Everything was neat and just how I left it when I returned. A very seamless sitting. Thank you!
We were so lucky to have Ted housesit for us while we were in Europe for 9 days. He took care of our dog and two cats while we were away. He was responsive to our texts and respectful of our home. Make sure the garden & the potted plants are thriving when you return home. A house sitter will do this for you.
