Professional petsitter from Boston

35, petsitter and veterinary admin

Hi! My name is Sarah D. I live in Boston, Mass and I've been petsitting professionally for 6 years. Three of those years I worked as a dog walker, so I have a lot of hands-on experience with a variety of breeds and behaviors. I am a Fear Free certified professional, and I am Pet CPR & First Aid certified!

I have worked with rambunctious puppies, senior pets requiring mobility assistance, and animals with special needs. I can administer oral and topical medications and provide daily exercise and enrichment. Activities I love to do with pets (in addition to walking the dogs) include playing fetch, keep away, hide and seek, and giving lots of belly rubs, cuddles, and neck & butt scratchies if your pet likes that! I take many great photos of your pets for you, and can provide daily updates about our activities (or less frequently if you'd prefer). I generally sit for dogs (XS-XL breeds) and/or cats, but I am open to caring for other types of animals with detailed instructions and an in-person introduction prior to your departure.

I will bring in your mail and packages, water your plants/gardens, manage trash and recycling, and keep your house clean and secure. I am a nonsmoker, and I am fully vaxxed and boostered x3. I respect my clients' privacy and never have guests. I do not have any pets of my own.

I spend most of my time pet-sitting for my wonderful clients in Boston (happy to share references) and working remotely for my job in veterinary administration. My remote work requires high speed internet/wifi (ideally 300 mbps+). PLEASE NOTE: My work now requires 60-days' notice to work out-of-state, so unfortunately I cannot accept any stays scheduled for sooner than 2 months away!

I am excited to discover opportunities to travel & explore new places while doing what I love: caring for pets :) I enjoy going hiking, checking out local museums and eateries, and catching the sunset. Proximity to National Parks is a big perk!

If you live within several hours of Massachusetts, I can drive to your sit and use my truck to get around (I do have 4WD). If you live further away, I'd likely want to fly there and would ask you about public transportation options and/or the possibility of using your vehicle in your absence. I've done this 2x so far through this site where I've flown by plane then borrowed the owner's car, and each experience has been wonderful!

I'm happy to provide references and additional info, as needed - just ask! Thanks for checking out my profile, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Sarah was wonderful, and the best pet and house sitter we could have hoped for! She is an excellent communicator, and shared daily updates and amazing photos of our kitties. She quickly learned their favorite activities and routines, including seamlessly giving our senior cat her medication. It was such a relief knowing that our cats were in such loving and capable hands while we were away. Sarah went above and beyond and we came home to happy, calm cats, and a super clean house! We'd 100% have ... MORE
