About me:

Hi, I am not one to go on about myself, but for the purposes of introductions and getting a better sense of me, I will mention the following. I am a very clean, healthy, conscientious (according to testing!), educated and professional male that was raised well. Well-mannered, very grounded, socially-aware, with loads of empathy, perceptiveness, and common sense in spades (and normally pretty humble too, ha). I'm both physically active and often working on the computer, reading, learning and building, plus I'm randomly handy as far as minor fixes go.

I've had various pets in my life and I'd love some new furballs to direct my attention towards. I have a 100% clean background, in addition to a clean driving record and insurance, etc., if applicable. I've also been granted security clearance before (so, squeaky clean basically). I've watched homes, pets and plants for the people in my life and for many new people through sits as well. If you'd like to come back to your home just how you left it (or even subtly better), I'd be happy to help and love experiencing new places.

Why:

To share space with and be there for pets that may not be so excited about their owners being away for so long. To experience all manner and variety of pets and breeds that I may have never experienced otherwise! Also to put homeowners' minds at ease knowing that there's still decent, responsible people out here who are just happy to show up and help, and fill a specific need of theirs. Which I'd also like to see more of by way of my travels, fresh new places and new faces. Plus all of the positive health benefits of having lots of animals in my day-to-day life, plus like mentioned it does feel good to be needed!

Experience:

I have mostly had furred and some feathered pets. I've watched pets for people I know in their homes as well as their plants, which I've also grown and taken care of myself, like sprouting, etc. I've taken care of my own home as well as rentals, in addition to pools, hot tubs, water softeners, wells and so on (if applicable). I've done a few farm sits now, and have used fireplaces before too. I am likely on a sit at present, and typically have a few sits scheduled, including both new as well as repeat sits that were requested of me. I've also been recommended for other sits, and have had others reach out to me for sits. I've also done a few sits without even having to meet the owners, like if they needed to take off or needed me to fill in, so that's also an option if it ever comes down to it. Reg was super patient with us.
The day of his arrival we had to make a decision and let Piper cat go forever.
I felt comfortable to leave Luna with him and he took her out and about to all new places to her and entertained her well. I received updates daily.
Reg had to deal with a not-draining shower and the golf cart that ran out of power.
He was quick to communicate and handled everything very well.
He seemed very well grounded and calm. I would have Reg back to watch my Luna dog.

This is the second time Reg has looked after my cat, Kenya, and my house for over a month. He sent regular updates with lots of photos of Kenya who was obviously very relaxed. I came home to a house cleaner than I left it, and he even left some food for me in the fridge! I would definitely recommend Reg to anyone.

Reg was great! Great communication leading up to the sit and I received regular pictures of my cats while he was here - it was great to see they were playing and receiving great care while I was gone. He left my house tidy and clean, everything washed, mail in a pile on the counter, and trash taken out. I would definitely have Reg back if it worked out in the future.

Reg is the perfect house sitter that you are hoping to get from this community. I was across the world for 2.5 weeks and away from my 2 cats for the longest period so far. I came to home two very happy kitties and very clean apt.

Reg was very communicative from the start of our correspondence and throughout his stay. I got an email almost every day of my cats being playful and relaxing in sunny spots. He was very self sufficient and I hope got the most of his stay in my neighborhood of San Francisco.

Reg is a terrific house sitter and cat carer! He communicated daily and shared many photos of my pet playing and hanging out. He left the home in impeccable shape - very clean and tidy with clean bedding and towels. He had no problems and is a friendly, helpful sitter who facilitated a few things happening at the house during his sit. I highly recommend Reg!

I’m so thankful for Houseitters! I’ve had about 6 pet sitters… all great…& REG is Fantastic! I was lucky enough to meet him here in Santa Fe while he was taking care of pets around the corner … he met me at the dog park… and came over to meet our kitties and pups… understand their routines… he is thoughtful and careful - soft spoken and kind. He cooked for the pups… went to the dog park, took out the trash… watered plants, etc… We came home this morning to our happy & healthy pack - and an immaculate house! The kitchen sink has never looked better! Really appreciated the photos he sent every other day… very responsive on text with updates and quick check ins… makes time away much easier with friendly updates! Reg has rapidly become my go- to sitter. I know I can plan long term trips when he’s available to house sit as he’s reliable and self sufficient, I can trust him to look after my kitties and house, and my cats obviously thrive under his care. One con- if he’s not available it’s become a chore to find someone else,even though I know there are tons of great sitters out there.

I needed someone reliable and trustworthy, a cat lover, someone who could look after my plants outside, someone who could cope if a hurricane barrelled through. Reg ‘s profile seemed to answer these needs. I ‘ve not left my home and animals with a stranger before and I was a bit nervous ! I didn’t even meet him before I had to leave! I was gone for a month and returned to a very contented cat, obviously very happy with her sitter, and a house exactly as I’d left it. Reg is calm, sensible, and efficient - and I sincerely hope he’ll come back again !

This was my first time using Housesitters and Reg couldn't have been a more perfect find. He kept me up-to-date with my cat, Kenya, by sending weekly reports and photos. They obviously got along well and he took a lot of the worry away from me being gone for over a month.
I hope eventually to have a decent watering system set up, but Reg was very forgiving of the projects I hadn't quite finished before I left. He managed without a dryer for the first 2-3 weeks without complaint and I came home to a contented happy cat, a clean house and even a dish of burritos.

No one has ever been able to make friends with my parrot. Reg, was able to retrieve, clean and replace food and water bowls.
Plus he's a great cook.

I don't like to pick favorites, but FYI you will be doing your home and pet a favor by having Reg do the sit. It worked out to spend a companionable evening together at the start, walking the neighborhood and letting Iris get to know Reg. Communication with Reg before, during and after was great! He sat for almost 3 weeks, during which he sent me tons of pictures of Iris out in nature having an absolute blast. And I came home to an immaculate house where I found so many little details that showed special care and attention. Including fresh milk and home made dinner in the fridge! Given it was peak growing season and a really hot spell Reg mowed the lawn watered the garden/yard when needed, and kept the bird feeder and hummer feedings well supplied. You can't do better than to have this sitter. 5 plus stars!!!

Reg was a wonderful house sitter. he arrived a bit early, which gave me time to show him the house and routines with the cats. While I was away he sent photos and texted regulaer updates. He not only took good care of the cats, he watered plants, and left the house as tidy as he found it. I would recommend him for any pets.

Reg was not only a great housesitter for the week I was away, but he was a most enjoyable houseguest for the 5 or 6 days prior to my departure. The two cats took to him immediately and were especially mellow when I returned. He left the house at least as clean and tidy as I had left it for him. He even left some wonderful surprises in the kitchen for my return. It turns out he is a wonderful cook.
I can highly recommend him, as can the cats.

Reg was a great fit for us. We were gone for 18 days and he sent us pictures of walks with our dog, and communicated about the house as well...he left the house cleaner than we left it! He was as good as we could have hoped for. We wish him the best in his future adventures. Highly recommend him.

Wow, Reg was an angel. I messed up on my listing dates and lost my planned dog sitter. I reposted at the last minute and Reg applied and came through in a big way for me. He was so very accommodating - flew in right on the day I was departing, early enough so I could show him around the house and share the dog routines with him. While I was away he took fabulous care of the dogs, the house, the plants - everything. I returned to a house that was even cleaner than I left it/keep it and I think I do a pretty good job of keeping the house tidy and clean. Reg took the dogs for really long walks every day. I have never seen my dogs tired from walking...Reg was actually able to wear them out from walking as their walks were so very long, impressive! I can't recommend Reg highly enough. He was a pleasure to communicate with before and during the stay. He took such fabulous care of my dogs and my house. Highly recommend!
