Experienced & Caring House and Pet Sitter

I moved to Washington DC on 1 November to work at the Australian Embassy. I'd love to house sit over the next few months to explore the DMV area and figure out where I'd like to live long term.

I have over 5 years' experience tending to homes of all sizes and caring for all creatures furry and feathered.

Being a homeowner myself, I understand the importance of looking after your home as though it were my own and will ensure your home, garden and belongings are maintained, safe and secure. I work full time (5 days per week) and don't have a car, so house sits within walking distance of public transport are ideal.

I'm a lifelong animal lover and grew up with an array of cats, dogs and birds, so I’m used to and love being around all types of animals. I was a cattery volunteer at Lort Smith Animal Hospital (Melbourne, Australia) for 4 years and a foster carer at Maneki Neko Cat Rescue (Melbourne, Australia) for 2 years, so rest assured your pets are in safe, caring and expert hands.

We are so grateful to have Mel looking after our fur babies, Bony and Boots. The process from meeting till sitting time was smooth. We liked Mel straight away from first time we met her weeks before the sitting. She is a genuine and lovely person. Mel sent photos daily and keep us updated of their activities. Mel was a fantastic house and pet sitter. She was very caring of my two cats, spending lots of time with them and ensuring they had daily enrichment activities. Mel also sent detailed daily updates with lots of photos. House was left very clean and even the sheets were all washed before she left. Highly recommend Mel to all.
