Communication with pictures keeps you informed and able to relax. My specialty is mid to long term sits (2-6+ months) in 12 states with and without pets. I am familiar with onsite Airbnb or renters (separate entrance), security cameras and alarms. Ask me in advance & I’ll work with you to accommodate.
A former home & pet owner with a large garden, I understand the importance of keeping your property well groomed and safe. I worked for the government & owned businesses while raising my now adult children. House sitting was my genius solution after traveling cross country as a sales/service tech & working in national parks.
Experience: 35+ (Paid & free) sits from July 2016 to present many in rural areas. (During the pandemic I paused in place & rented). A combination of city & rural locations; I have the ability to remain calm during weather or other events, highly organized & clean. With rising costs, I prefer nearby shopping & delivery services.
Equipment: wood & pellet stoves, generators, mowers, out buildings. Chickens, snow removal, wildlife & wild bird feeding. Orchards, greenhouses, care of your vehicles & more. To date no loss of property or pet under my care. I own AWD vehicle & drive to your location.
I enjoy photography, writing and learning about the history of your area. A 'bit of a ‘quiet homebody' giving attention to pets & plants. Diagnosed pre-diabetic 2021, I cut my blood sugar A1C numbers to near normal, I cook & eat healthy. (I can but rarely drink, non smoker / no drugs) Most of my work requires good WiFi & I love music.
I will give all locations consideration but with rising costs help with travel costs for long distance is beneficial. Thank you

Kathy communicated with us but due to other circumstances was not able to stay with our animal for the planned stay. We did let Kathy know ahead of time about our dog and she assured us she'd be able to handle her. This did leave us in a bind and we ended up having to pay for a dog sitter which was a very unplanned expense. We appreciate Kathy's communication but the situation was unfortunate.
I can't say enough good things about Kathy. She was highly professional from beginning to end, and my cat loved her.
She was able to handle unexpected issues without breaking a sweat. My water heater sprung a leak while I was gone, and she seamlessly coordinated with a plumber to have a new one (upgraded model that I choose) installed the next day. She also handled minor sprinkler issue with the help of my neighbor, who had nothing but praise for her.

Kathy was a wonderful sitter. She knows exactly what to do with cats and handled our rambunctious kittens well. She took great care of the house, cooked extra chicken for the kitties and kept us happy with cute pictures of Milo and Millie while we were away.
