We are a retired husband/wife couple. We lived in the Denver metro area for 23 years and moved to Grand Junction, CO in 2018. We too are homeowners (28+ years). We will respect your home and privacy like we would want from others. We're looking for house-sitting opportunities to experience new places to visit!
As seasoned travelers, we're open to house-sit nationwide. Fernando retired from working overseas for 13+ years. Though we kept our Lakewood, CO home during that time, we are used to "setting up house" in different parts of the world.
Currently, we don't have pets so we can travel. Cindy grew up on a farm with lots of critters; she's had pets most of her life. To get her doggy/cat fix, Cindy volunteered at Foothills Animal Shelter (FAS), Golden, CO for four years. FAS serves all of Jefferson County. Her favorite volunteer positions: 1) Surgery pack (cleaning, packing & auto-clave surgery instruments); 2) Kennel Guide (bring dogs to visiting rooms for those interested in adoption); 3) Pet Meds; and, 4) Vaccine Clinic (assistance w/ at-cost dog & cat vaccines to Jefferson County pet owners). Other positions she's done: Doggercise; fostering (dogs that need recovery time away from a noisy shelter for various reasons); Off-site Adoption Events; and shovel gravel into outdoor dog runs. FAS is a happy place to work; it has a 94% adoption rate! Our last dog was a foster adopted from FAS. Cindy currently volunteers at dog agility competitions in Grand Junction.
P.S. We have had so many Covid vaccinations we feel like pin cushions (good doggies)!
We love Cindy and Fernando! They took amazing care of our dog, giving her plenty of walks, and plenty of love. They were excellent communicators, giving us updates so we always knew what was going on. They left the house super clean. It was such a joy to meet them!
Cindy and Fernando were a delightful couple we were glad to meet and get to know. They did a stellar job with our animals and houseplants and home. If you should be fortunate enough to have this wonderful couple house sit for you, you can travel easy and now that your home and animals are in excellent care with Cindy and Fernando. The communication was perfect, I knew how everyone was doing and my horses and cat were so relaxed and happy when we returned. They are a gift to the community of house sitters!
I seriously doubt you'll find a better person to look after your place and critters than Cindy. Fernando couldn't make this sit but he must be a fine gentleman. And lucky too.
I knew immediately upon her arrival that she should be fine. I had no worries while I was away. On top of that the house was immaculate and critters were happy. And she left me a pound of English Toffee when I should of been paying here a couple hundred dollars. Just saying.

Cindy and Fernando are FANTASTIC house sitters. They spent a week taking care of our elderly cat and as soon as we met them over zoom we were confident that she would be in wonderful hands. Their communication was excellent, they sent us nice updates with pictures and they left the house as clean as could be. We hope they can come again some time and would recommend them highly for any of your house and pet sitting needs!
We've had some great house and pet sitters from Housesitters America, but Cindy and Fernando are truly exceptional. They returned the house to us completely clean, kept us updated on our pets whenever we had cell service, and most importantly, loved our 2 border collies and cat almost as much as we do! The animals were all happy and content when we returned. We feel so lucky to have met both Cindy and Fernando. Very highly recommended.
Cindy and Fernando did a great job housesitting for us. We were gone for 5 weeks and found the house in perfect condition when we returned. All was clean and neat. They also took great care of our dog Winston while we were away. Winston had some medical issues and Cindy handled them perfectly. Cindy and Fernando are lovely people and would not hesitate to ask them to house sit for us again.
