Rustic, passive solar home on large acreage in Colorado foothills, mixed forest and meadow. 360-degree views including Continental Divide. 20 miles west of Denver metro area (Golden is nearest). 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath, greenhouse, decks, hot tub, plenty of room to roam outside. Heat exchange system heats 3 bedrooms and office. Supplement heating with three wood stoves. Internet service, wi-fi. Elevation 8750 feet. Access via paved state and county mountain roads to within 1.7 miles; then 1.7 miles private gravel road. The map above is computer generated and NOT accurate location, house is 15 miles from Golden! Nearest neighbor 0.75 mile by road. Private well and septic system. Responsibilities: caring for one loving cat and two energetic dogs; and watering the greenhouse and houseplants. Easy access to the mountains and ski areas! To access amenities in town, you will need a vehicle. Please note: you will need to have fires in woodstoves if you require 70F temperatures. Snowstorms also possible.

This is a really cool older solar home in a surprisingly remote location. In the winter the sitter must be comfortable with managing the heat from the passive solar system and wood stove. But the location is exceedingly quiet and the views amazing.
Marith was very responsive and helpful. The house was clean and tidy.
Ari the cat is easy and friendly. I've never met a cat so comfortable getting in the middle of two rambunctious dogs.

Marith's place sits on top of a beautiful mountain. It was a wonderful place to get away from the city and enjoy nature. Carmella the dog, and Ari the cat were a pleasure to it for. It was the first time we didn't have to use a leash to walk a dog, since there was so much property to walk around. The only draw back was that everything was at least a 30 minute drive to get to if you wanted to go to the store or eat out. Definitely a place for nature lovers!
This was such a fun sit. We enjoyed the area and especially playing follow the leader with the animals. Every day was a new adventure. Communication with Marith was great and her home is lovely. Highly recommend for nature lovers.
Marith's home is great. And her two dogs and cat are wonderful - instant friends! Marith's home is tucked privately in the mtns and has wonderful views. Her property has amazing trees and boulders to hike through. She is kind, welcoming, and a great communicator. I thoroughly enjoyed housesitting for her.
Marith was such a sweet lady and very hospitable when we arrived to her home. We absolutely fell in love with Ari (the cat), Sniffels & Camela. The animals are very well trained and have a very good routine they follow even with their owner gone. The dogs like good long walks Martin & I would watch these animals anytime again. Thank you Marith for allowing us into your beautiful home. It was a pleasure to meet you and your animals.

Pups Sneffles and Carmela are incredibly sweet and well-behaved. They kept me active by politely requesting frequent walks. Ari the cat is a cuddlebug. The house is cozy and the garden was a wonderful, healthy bonus. Communication was easy and expectations were clear.
Overall it was a wonderful sit that I enjoyed very much!
We spent a wonderful 5 weeks in the mountains of Golden with Wonderful animals to look after and a Beautiful home with great views. Marith the home owner was a pleasure to sit for, and anyone who has this house sit in the future im am sure will love the experience as much as we did.
