We are lucky enough to live in the very beautiful N.E. Tennessee mountains, where we retired a few years back. But we do enjoy travel so 2 or 3 times a year we take off for 2-3 weeks at a time and we need someone to look after our 3 dogs.
Our house is on 10 very private acres, surrounded by trees on three sides and overlooking a horse/cattle paddock on the other.
It is very peaceful and relaxing.
Mia is a 7 year old 40lb mixed breed rescue, Bruno is a 3 year old rescued Boxer (80lb), and Zuri is an 11 month Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy (95lb). They are currently being managed separately, so they go out to play, potty and exercise separately. They do want someone who is with them quite a bit as they are used to us being home all the time.
We have a one acre fenced yard so they don't need to be walked - just fed and loved on. The boys love everyone but Mia had a traumatic first couple of years and takes a little while to warm up - but then she is a lover.
You will sleep and cook in our two bedroom, two bathroom fully equipped walk-out basement apartment. It has a full kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer etc, a reclining sofa with a 65 inch TV.
We and our dogs live upstairs. Up there is a Master Suite (where Mia sleeps in her crate at night), open plan kitchen, dining room and living room (with a 65 inch TV) and where Bruno and Zuri sleep in their crates at night, study and utility room (where we feed the dogs). And you will also have full access to this part of the house - in fact we like for pet sitters to hang out upstairs with the dogs! We have high speed internet - 100 mbps.
We are both non-smokers and we ask that anyone that sits for us is also a non-smoker.
Elizabethton is a quaint town with all the usual stores, and Johnson City is about 20 minutes away - it is a university and medical school town. We are 6 miles from Watauga Lake and we distantly overlook the Watauga River. This area is known as the Appalachian Highlands.
