Buchanan Michigan

Our house is located on 80 quiet acres of pastures and woodland about 8 miles from Buchanan, MI. The Lake Michigan shore and Warren Dunes State park is about 20 miles west. South Bend, Indiana is 20 miles south.
We have one 13 year old part Whippet dog named Higgs, 2 barn cats, 7 hens, and about thirty ewes and their lambs, depending on the season. We have a small vegetable garden and various potted plants. Fresh eggs and vegetables/fruits in season are yours for the picking. There is a walking path through the woods and a lap pool for summer swimming.
In summer a lawn mower and pool maintenance person have access to the property. A house cleaner comes every 2 weeks on Thursdays.
This job requires staying overnight in the house with the dog and up to three hours per day ( but probably less) of animal/garden chores.
Dog care consists of feeding morning and evening and walking/playing 3 times per day( morning, noon, and late afternoon) for about 10 minutes a session and a before- bed potty walk( 5 minutes). Other animals are checked on and fed/watered twice per day. The garden and plants in containers need to be watered regularly, possibly every day if the weather is hot and dry.
We would like to hire a local retiree or mature young adult with driving licenses who could get to know us and the animals and routines, and who could be available maybe three weeks per year ( not necessarily all at once!) for farm sitting given adequate notice.
