Brooklyn New York

We are looking for someone to stay in our one-bedroom garden apartment and care for our 5 year old dog goose - he is a sweet and loving hound mix. We have a private backyard that he can use to pee/poop on occasion - and are in the Red Hook neighborhood - which has lots of great parks (filled with dogs) only minutes walk away. For those that don't know Brooklyn, Red Hook is just south of downtown Brooklyn (and Carol Gardens) and is a very unique neighborhood -- a lot less congested than other parts of the city, and on the water -- our park has an amazing view of lower manhattan and the statue of liberty - especially at sunset!

There is a lot of street parking in our neighborhood and right outside our house. But if you don't have a car, the best ways to get around are the buses and subways -- we're a 15 minute walk from the F-G train and one block away from a bus that quickly takes you to downtown brooklyn where tons of trains connect. There is a ferry terminal in Red Hook -- and taking the ferry is one of the cheapest/coolest ways to get amazing views of the city. We also are a block away from the Red Hook Tavern - which is famous for having the best hamburger in the entire city! (and it really is impressive) We're happy to offer more info about our neighborhood and offer suggestions if you're not familiar with the city.

The apartment will be clean and welcoming, but definitely small. Goose usually needs 1-2 chances to stretch his legs a day (off leash hours in the parks are great for him -- he loves chasing tennis balls).
