NEW HAVEN Connecticut

We are traveling more for longer periods of time and need to have company for our pets. Our previous sitter of five years recently informed us that she is retiring and will no longer sit for us. We need some one who has had experience with rescue pets , has patience and compassion; and really likes animals!
We would prefer a singleton as our guest accommodations are better suited to one person. but we will consider a couple. WE ALSO NEED SOME ONE WHO IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO NEW HAVEN TO COME FOR A MEET AND GREET OR CAN ARRIVE A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE WE LEAVE as one of the dogs is uncomfortable with complete strangers. Also to learn their routine.

Our Home & Location
Our house is a contemporary w/ kitchen, lr/dr, 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. It has a washer and dryer and dishwasher plus a microwave. the outside has a wrap around deck. Our yard is large and landscaped.
We live in a secluded area only minutes from downtown New Haven. Bus stops are a 5 minute walk. Our neighbors are friendly. There are grocery stores, fast food, and Walmart in close proximity. We are close to all major highways. New York City is readily accessible by train or car. Boston is about an hour & a half away. Bradley International airport is about 1 hr. north.

New Haven is a picturesque New England college town and is home to Yale University as well as many other colleges. It has lots of nightlife and excellent restaurants as well as art and science museums and theaters.

We are also close to the shore and many beaches and a quick ferry ride from Long Island. There are also ski areas close by.

Responsibilities & Pets
Main responsibilities would be to take care of the house and our pets. We have some one who takes care the lawn and our greenhouses. You will need to water the house plants.
If by some chance it snows (this is New England after all), you will need to shovel the walkway and a small area on our deck... We have a generator in case of a long term power outage.
Litter box will need to be changed periodically.

We expect that neither our house or possessions will be abused and our personal property and privacy will be respected.
