Hello Pet Parents...

We are Rick & Becki Kern, from Tucson AZ. We are both fully vaccinated; smoke, drug, and alcohol-free. Rick retired from 25 years in HR at a local hospital, and Becki retired from 20 years serving on staff at a large church in our town. Our kids, grandkids, and great-grands all live nearby in southern Arizona.

When we retired, we started house/pet sitting for friends. We are now "Uncle Rick & Aunt Bek" to our very special Libby (14-year-old Westie), our wonderful bundle of energy & personality, Skye (4-year-old Havanese), an entertaining 7-year-old, Ladybug, and the lovable Deany (11 year-old Australian Shepherd.) What a time we have had with these four the last couple of years.

From them, we have learned a few really important lessons.

Number 1: make sure we know what is/isn't allowed. Libby told us she was allowed up on the Italian leather couch...which, in fact, we found out she was NOT when we sent her mom a picture of Libby snuggling with her BFF (our great granddaughter) on said couch!

Number 2: verify beforehand how far along the pet is in his/her training. Skye assured me she is allowed to run ahead and pull my arm out of the socket when we walk...which her mom said is NOT true. She is to walk by my side, and then treats will be made available!

Number 3: if you leave your spot in the bed, expect to come back to a 4-legged friend in your place!

We have enjoyed sitting so much that we decided we would enjoy being Uncle & Aunt to your pet(s) in between our regular travels. Our sits have been from 1 - 3 weeks so far, but we can do longer as our schedule allows.

Although we've both had many pets through the years, we chose to take the Red Cross Pet Safety course before we started sitting.
Besides caring for the pet(s) we also water the plants; gather the mail; receive packages; keep the house safe and clean; send pictures to the pet parents; and other requests that we are able to
do.

Our Libby has now crossed over the Rainbow Bridge (spring of 2023), but we would be happy to supply references from Skye, Ladybug, and Deany (or the parents of the 4.) We can also provide personal references if desired.

We would typically arrive in our own vehicle unless circumstances require flights. Our ID's and backgrounds are verified.
