I am a non-smoking female and a semi-retired teacher/part-time travel writer who is very experienced with taking care of homes, apartments and most pets including cats and dogs of all sizes and also birds including older pets and those requiring medications. I/we (when my spouse joins me) have excellent references on three pet-sitting sites.

Sherel and John took excellent care of our cat, Tuxedo and our house for seven weeks while we were on vacation in Spain. When there was a problem with the pool filter, she went above and beyond to remedy the problem. Our vacation was so much more relaxing knowing everything was fine at home. When we returned, the house was neat and clean. I highly recommend Sherel and John and would love to have them house/pet sit in the future.

Sherel went beyond and besides taking care of Chancey and our plants and home, she laundered the linen that she used and made up the guest room with clean linens. This was not expected. We came home to a noticeably clean home and a very relaxed Chancey cat.

This was the very first time we ever had a house/pet sitter and were a little apprehensive, but what an experience! We were in contact with Sherel prior to the sit and immediately got a good feeling about her. That was fully confirmed after we met. It was very easy to explain to Sherel everything about the house and our dog Erik (who was wagging his tail right from the start). She took excellent care of Erik and the house and frequently sent us updates. We found everything in perfect order and couldn't be happier about the whole experience. We just returned home from a carefree 2 week vacation. As soon as we met Sherel and John, we were at ease that our pets would be in good hands. As it turns out, they were in great hands! Both Sherel and John can work from home so spent a lot of time here with our pets. This is much appreciated since our rescue dog Ginger has some separation issues! And is still puppy like. Our standoffish cat Hazel even warmed up to them. We came home to very happy pets that had obviously bonded with Sherel and John. The house was clean and our car was clean and full of gas. My last assignment found me taking care of a lively Pomeranian puppy in New York City's East Village where I was also responsible for making sure he didn't eat off the sidewalk and preparing special meals to address his stomach issues. I also assisted in his house training. Currently, I am in Miami Beach, Florida taking care of a lovely German Shepherd, a leopard gecko and goldfish. Before that, I was in the Ottawa Valley area taking care of an indoor/outdoor older cat who required daily brushings and ointment applications and a Rex rabbit who requires supervised play/ outings and daily clean ups, feeding and watering.

Previous assignments included taking care of a cockatiel and a canary for three weeks in an upscale home in Sun City, AZ and caring for a four-month-old puppy in Manhattan who required eardrops to be administered daily and lots of walks to help establish his toilet training.

Cat sitting experiences involved taking care of two elderly cats, one of whom had to receive medication daily in the form of an ointment placed on a tumour. I also followed careful instructions re their diets and cleaned the litter box out daily and kept the area clean around the box as well as the rest of the house.

Prior to that, I took care of two middle-aged cats and a large dog on an isolated property for three weeks in Nova Scotia. In another assignment, I took care of two small dogs and two birds in a large home in Long Beach, CA, one of whom had to be let out of his cage for a few hours a day and then returned in the evening.

I can provide excellent references including positive testimonials from numerous AirBnB hosts as to my suitability as a guest in your home.
