67, Retired

I am retired as of July 2019 and free to travel anywhere to house/pet sit. I am a non-smoker; I do not use any types of drugs. I began house/pet setting to be able to travel and see more places. I prefer staying in a home environment rather than a motel room, but I have no problem staying in a motel days before or after my sit if it accommodates your schedule. Meeting new people and caring for their pets is an added bonus and so far, I have met wonderful people and pets. I am having many repeats which I am thankful for.

I am very clean and tidy and totally respect another person's property and wishes. I do understand the importance of caring for another person's pet/home/property. I try to keep the same schedule as possible that the pet is accustomed to. And my goal is to leave any property the same or even nicer than when I arrived. I have had sits in Missoula Montana, Lancaster California (3-times), Phoenix Arizonia, Marco Island Florida, Pawleys Island SC, Smith Mountain Lake VA (3 times), Melbourne FL, Redington Shores FL (2-times) and Mims FL.

Mike watched our house & 2 dogs for over 5 weeks and we couldn't have been happier with him. First, and most importantly, our dogs clearly loved him. My cattle dog is very much a one person kind of dog (that one person being me). So, I was a little worried how she would do with me leaving for so long. Mike was a great house/pet sitter, we couldn't have been happier! He was flexible regarding our travel schedule which was wonderful as I was still working out our trip to Kentucky. He bonded easily with Maddie, gave her lots of attention and was sensitive to her needs (meals, walking schedule, fear of thunder/loud noises). Communication was awesome, he was easy going and kept the house in great shape. Will definitely use him again if our schedules work out!

No rating We were so lucky that Mike responded to our ad! He traveled on Christmas Eve and spent the holiday in a hotel room to be able to accomodate our schedule (we left the day after Christmas to visit our kids in the Carolinas). He is a really nice man, was lovely to our pups, and took great care of our home and car. Couldn't be happier with our experience with him and our experiences with Home Sitters of America!
