Please note, if you are considering inviting us: We prefer sits we can get to and stay comfortably without a car, whether with transit, bicycles, or a vehicle you loan. Near an Amtrak station is a plus. We can also consider plane or bus, depending on our budget and your location.

We are willing to drive within six hours of Norfolk, VA. For these sits we prefer to bring our sweet, senior, beagle if possible, but this is optional.

Red the Beagle is great with other dogs and has lived with cats. We will *not* bring him to a home with rabbits or other furry small animals due to his hunting instincts.

I retired from teaching in July of 2022. I enjoy traveling, people, and pets, and have experience with dogs, cats, hens, some reptiles, and small animals like hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, and cavies/guinea pigs.

Don, my husband and dance partner, loves all “critters,” as he calls them, and especially likes to walk dogs.

We both have pet-sitting experience, and an i.d.- and background-check along with multiple five-star reviews available through another platform. We will make these available upon request.

Mary Lou is a superb and experienced house sitter and even taught me how to be a better house sit host! Very communicative from the start, she had a detailed list of questions and provided a list of everything that she would need to be prepared to properly care for my house and pets while I was gone.
