Loving your home as if it were our own.

Hi, we're Chad (Right) and Jon (Left), a forty-something couple who has been doing life together since 2009. We started house/pet sitting in April 2023 as a way to keep costs down while we transitioned from the East Coast. Our intention is to travel and get a feel for different places so we can find somewhere that feels right for us to settle down again.

We're both creative and entrepreneurial in nature and love to adventure and explore the outdoors all while meeting new and wonderful people and exchanging stories. We are both health conscious, wellness oriented individuals who love uncontrollable laughter, taking leisurely walks in nature and having spontaneous coffee dates. We are both non-smokers.

We've been on a long, healing journey to create a life we both love by stepping into the unknown and trusting we will be guided toward what is meant for us. We aim to inspire others to live their dreams and find their purpose. We felt a calling to head to the West coast and so we answered.

Our Experience:

We currently have over a dozen official and successful House/Pet sits under our belt since April 2023, including 10 and counting from Trusted Housesitters and 3 repeat sits from Housesitters of America. We’ve developed solid working relationships and friendships with many of our hosts and have been asked back several times for future sits and visits.

We're also open to long-term house sits. We completed a five month sit in January 2024 via this site for a lovely couple in San Francisco. They usually bring their pup along with them, so we looked after their home only and managed the day to day essentials.

In our past sits, we’ve cared for as few as one cat and as many as three dogs and three cats at one time. We’ve experienced dogs of all sizes and behaviors, varying from a young, energetic bulldog to a small, chilled out Pomeranian fluff ball, and dogs with special needs.

The cats, not surprisingly, have mostly kept to themselves, with a few exceptions, when we're eventually graced with mild affection, meows, kneading paws and soothing purrs. And they're always entertaining to watch, regardless.

In our younger years, we both house-sat for friends and family while they were away or on vacation, and have also cared for their pets - mostly dogs, cats, and birds. We don't currently have any pets of our own, but we've both had quite a few dogs, cats, and smaller animals growing up.

Jon spent much of his time outdoors as a child and would often bring home all manner of creatures from around his childhood home in upstate New York such as rabbits, birds, snakes, turtles, frogs, fish, salamanders, even stray cats and dogs.

Once, as a child, Jon even resuscitated a turtle, out of pure instinct, that had gotten stuck upside down in its terrarium and almost drowned in a pool of water. The turtle spit up water and was fine after (true story).

Why we want to house sit:

House sitting is a way for us to be financially mindful during our transition into a new life while also providing a service to you by keeping your home secure and any pets you may have safe and loved until you return.

Caring for animals has often been therapeutic for us, and we quickly become good friends with them. It can be mutually beneficial as well because some of the dogs we've sat for, who have anxiety, have become more at ease and relaxed after spending time with us.

We don't hesitate if something seems off and are quick to check in with the vet or nearby neighbors if we need assistance. We aim to ensure that you have no worries while you're away on your work trip, vacation, or getaway. We are happy to send photos and/or videos of your fur babies so you can see how they are adjusting and getting along, as much or as little as you prefer.

Getting to know our hosts has also been beneficial for us in that we’ve received valuable information about the West Coast and the surrounding areas that we might not otherwise have gotten. We’re making connections and long-lasting friendships that will help us create a solid support network going forward.

Five Stars all the way! If we could give a higher rating we would! Thank you once again for sitting at our home and taking care of our kittens while we were away.

It was a pleasure to have Jon & Chad at our house while we were away. We give the highest recommendation to Jon & Chad for house and pet sitting. Jon & Chad were easy to communicate with before, during and after our return home. I was very appreciative that they sent photos of our pets on a regular basis while we were away letting us know all was well and we had nothing to worry about while we were away. Could not have had a better experience, I feel as if we have made lifelong friends.

Thank you, Michael and Micro, so very much for your kind review! It was such a pleasure for us to watch over your home and look after Blaze and Pawla. We, too, feel as though we've made lifelong friends :)
