We are a recently retired couple in our mid-60's. Travel is our passion and house sitting seems to satisfy that passion! We are non-smokers, non-users and into clean living. We have both had our covid shots.

We farmed for 25+ years in Minnesota and both worked full time - so we clearly understand the concept of responsibility for a home, animals and being a respectful guest and neighbor.

Donna was a paralegal and Dale was a former electronic technician and also did hotel maintenance for several years. As former farmers, we are able to fix and/or repair most anything and are comfortable with animals, machinery, gardens/plants and yard work. We enjoy either city or country living.

We have lived in Minnesota all of our lives, are fairly well traveled, have worked in seven national parks and enjoy exploring new parts of the country and meeting new people. We adapt well to new areas and change.

We have had several dogs and cats in our past and miss the interaction with pets - they bring so much happiness and joy to the world. We have owned and cared for all types of farm animals, including cattle, chickens, horses and donkeys.

We look forward to questions about our qualifications and your needs. We are open to all areas of the country and prefer (but not required) housesits of less than 10 days. Looking forward to hearing from you!

We loved having Donna and Dale care for our animals and home. We were away for a week and with a newly adopted rescue we really didn’t want our dog to need to leave the house. This was our first housesitting experience and it couldn’t have been more positive. Donna and Dale took great care of our animals and home, they communicated with us regularly and left the house cleaner than when we left. I highly recommend them and hope to have them back in the future.

Donna and Dale were awesome sitters! Donna was extraordinarily communicative up to and during the sit. Each day they sent me an update and pictures of my pets, which was much appreciated! They were so understanding about my place being in transition, with many boxes around due to an upcoming mood. Further, they left the place cleaner than they found it! I couldn't recommend them more highly and would absolutely welcome them back to sit anytime.

Updated us during their drive and arrived within the prearranged time frame. Attentive to the animals on the day prior to us leaving, read through our lengthy housesitting doc, were attentive with walkthrough of the house and daily routine, and asked thoughtful questions about the care of the animals/house. Donna and her husband Dale were exceptional cat and house sitters! They fulfilled all their responsibilities plus more. While we were away, Donna communicated with texts that had just the right amount of information and photos! We returned to a home cleaner than we left it! They also washed the linens and had the sheets back on the bed and nicely made for our return. The kitties were happy and we were happy! We would definitely welcome Donna and Dale back any time!!

Donna and Dale took excellent care of both our dog and our home. They were great about keeping us up-to-date. Our home was spotless when we returned. They came in the night before and we spent time getting to know each other and showing them the ins and outs of our home and dog. They were a delight getting to know. We felt completely comfortable having them in our home. And, our dog was happy being with both Donna and Dale. We would definitely ask them to housesit again.

If I could write every synonym for the word perfect to describe Dale and Donna I would. They were so amazing with both the communication before, during and after their stay. If there was a way I could give Donna & Dale 10 stars I would do it in a heartbeat. They kept in touch and sent an occasional photo, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. When I got home, EVERYTHING was much better than I left it; the house was clean (even my refrigerator), the sheets and towels had been washed, the outside flowers were in gorgeous condition, and (most important) my cats were relaxed and happy. OMG! Donna and Dale were fabulous! This was our first experience w/Housesitters America. D&D were fantastic in every way. We had good communication immediately and were able to zoom in advance. Once we confirmed, Donna was very helpful in giving us information guidelines for what sitters would like to know. Donna and Dale did a wonderful job taking care of our 3 week old chicks, our dog, and our home. They were so very accommodating of our plans which was greatly appreciated! We were able to travel without concern or worry and we were pleased to be able to contact them and receive such quick responses. I would gladly have them back again and highly recommend others to consider them for housesitting and pet sitting.

This was our first time using a house sitter for the care of our dogs. Donna and Dale made it such a positive experience we would do it again. They were accommodating our schedule. They arrived a couple hours before we left.. The dogs quickly warmed up to both of them making us much more comfortable leaving. Donna was great in replying to emails in a timely fashion and keeping us updated on the dogs during our time away. The house was almost cleaner than when we left.

No rating Donna and Dale were some of the best cat sitters! They did a great job keeping me up to date about their travel plans, without being too bothersome. When they arrived, they quickly learned all there was to know about taking care of my cat, and upon my return everything was spotless and my cat was very happy. I would highly recommend Donna and Dale as a house sitter to anyone!

No rating We were really appreciative of Donna and Dale for taking such good care of our house and cats. They drove in the night before we left and we were able to have dinner with them and get to know them. They are really nice people, and we had no hesitation leaving our cats in their care. When we returned our house was tidy and the cats were happy. Who could ask for more? I would definitely recommend them to anyone else looking for quality people to house sit for them.

They followed our instructions exactly. They cared for our four cats, one of them needing a daily pill.
