I'm a widow in my late 60s who loves the quiet life (reading, taking walks, being with pets). After my husband died (about 10 years ago), someone suggested I try housesitting as a way to see the country affordably. I joined this site, and right away I found the perfect sit. I sat for Pam & Jon for 8 years. I would switch between their northern home (where I got to be with their two darling cats) and their southern home. I am grateful to this kind couple for the great experience. Here is their review:
My wife Pamela and I were very fortunate to have contracted with Kim, as a house sitter long-term, from 2015 to 2024. We would switch with Kim twice a year. Kim would live during the winter in Oregon and during the summer in Southern California experiencing the extremes of the worst weather. Kim was a most reliable house sitter and very dependable. During her stay she was capable of contacting contractors to fix plumbing and HVAC issues on several occasions. Kim is quite reserved and kept our homes very tidy and clean during her stay. Kim’s primary function was to care for our two felines and often she would have to take them to the vet for care and was with them during the end of their lives on both occasions. Kim was always respectful of our home and property and was quite willing to change locations at our convenience. Should I require a house sitter in the future, I would hope that Kim would be available. We will always be grateful for her Service and care of our pets. Jon and Pam.
